25. August 2008

Hey everyone!

Soo, everything here is going just great. I love being here, and i enjoy almost every single second. I have already learned many things about so many things and about myself. This is really a fantastic experience.
But I'm not going to lie, everything isn't perfect. They are a few minor problems. Like school-stuff being a bit too much, and taking a hell of a lot of time, me trying to be a part of a new family, and them adjusting to this new member.
I'm trying to be positive anyway, and focus on what I can learn from that.
I am sooooo exausted when I go to bed at night (10 pm, no kidding), because school takes a lot of energy, and all of that being in english, makes my brain work even harder.
But hey, don't worry, I'm fine. I really am :) I just want to be honest, and tell about my experience as an exchange student.
Besides that, school is fun. I like the american system. And I LOOOOOVE Chinese! I am so glad that I got the opportunity to try it. I love it.

The Cutshaw had a party for me on Saturday. They had invited a loooot of people from the school. It was very nice. And I think everyone had fun!
And Christy made a really pretty sign with my name on it. She is adorable.
Drew is just being full-time nice. Very caring.

This weekend, Drew has a soccer tournament in Disney world in Orlando, so we are all going. That is going to be so much fun!! I am looking forward to spend the weekend with the family, doing something nice. During the week they all have so many activities, that we don't really get to be all gathered.

I have noticed that American families eat A LOT out. I have had one family-dinner at home, since I moved in. I'm serious. That is really different.

It has been raining all day (and I mean like.. RAINING. really raining a lot), and it is quite windy, because of the hurricane in Florida. I have never seen so much rain! And the air was soooooo humid today. My hair got all curly because of it. And it felt like we almost could grab water from the air with our hands.
All those changes are really fun though. I'm enjoying it.

I will take some pictures very soon. I just forget to do it d:

Have fun!

20. August 2008

Heyy!

So this was my 3rd day at school today. Westminster is just awesome! It's soooo big and sooo beautiful. I'm really lucky to be here.
And people are just being so nice to me! Always smiling and saying hello when i pass them in the hall.
Their school system is different. It's like.. There is 7 periods in your schedule, but only 6 on a day. So the first day is like period 1 at first and so, and day 2 is period 7 first, and then period 1. So I don't have the courses at the same time of the day. That is actually a good idea, I think! Especially when the schedule is the same (or.. it's not obviously. but you know what I mean) every day.
I have 2 free periods, which mean that I have 2 hours where I can just chill or do my homework. That's nice! :D
And I'm taking; English (The teacher, mr. Finsthwait, is such a nice person. I really like him), Maths; Algebra II (I don't understand anything. It's really different. And it all have different names and so. Confusing), Chinese 1 (YEAH I KNOW! It's sooooooo cool. I really love it. Li xiao jiè shì wo pèng you. :D), Chorus (well.. it's fun to hear the other sing. I can't do it myself. whatever - no homework from that course) and Public Speaking (I loooove our teacher mr. Onwuachi! He is really cool. And it's fun. And I think I will improve my English that way).
So school is a nice part of the day. I like it here (:

I moved in to the Cutshaw yesterday. I was really excited about that. I went well. They are really nice people. And their house is biiiig. Wauw!

We just went out and ate sushi. De, Drew, some friends of De and I. It was nice. And then Drew bought me ice-cream. That was so nice of him. He is really being nice to me. I am so happy to be here.

Right now, Christy came and asked if she could sit in here with me. She is just adorable. She bought me gifts in China. That was soooo cute!!

Well, I think that's it.
Hope y'all (yeah i know, southern speech-tingy) having fun in Denmark!

Camille

ps. See, that's my host family!

isn't she just adorable?

pps. Sven! :D

17. August 2008

Okay, so i'm going to do this blog in English from now on. It is really confusing for me to write Danish, because I have to tune back, and then speak English again. It's like I have to start over every time. AND my french family will be able to read it! Great!

So, my first days were just great. People here are soooo nice! And Atlanta is just so amazing. It's really, really beautiful. I feel like Scarlett O'Hara (from Gone With The Wind) everytime we drive trhough the city and neighbourhood.

Yesterday (thursday), we went to the arrival orientation. I met the other AFS students from the area. There was 13. It was nice. We talked about stuff that we allready had been through at the other camps, but it was okay. We had fun.
At night, we went see the new Batman movie. With Carolina and Steven Matheson and Roberto (the other AFS'er that stays here. but he actually left today) and I. That movie is awesome! Even though I almost fell asleep at a moment because I was so tired.

Today, Carolina and Glenn showed me around at Westminster. It is huge. Really. Like nothing in Denmark. It was like.. 100 times bigger! And it was really nice looking. Very green. And just beautiful. I'll try to post some pictures one day.
Then Agnes (my AFS liason, if anyone shouldn't know yet) had arranged something for me, where 4 Westminster students came and talked to me about this year. They had all something to do with being an exchange student or host family. It was pretty nice. They are all so nice to me!
Then we went at a Japanese restaurant and ate sushi. It was so much fun!
When we got back, we turned on TV, and HSM2 was on Disney Channel! So of course, we watched it. I've watched it too many times. I know all the lines :b

I guess that is it for now..
I am really excited about starting school tomorrow! But I'm sure that it is going to be great. People seem really nice.

I hope you are all doing well, back home!

Arrival!

Derfor tog det os virkelig lang tid at komme gennem køen, for at kunne checke in.

To gode film!
