March 18th

Yesterday was Cammie's birthday so I made her a pretty card. It was also St. Patrick's day (I thought only irish people celebrated that) so everyone was wearing green ; but me. Haha!

The new big deal at the big W is...... get ready for this, because your life will never be the same........ A CAT!!!! Who is stuck in a tree. A very big tree. And it can't come down apparently. So during breaks, people stand there and yell at it, make jokes, throw things to make it fall down (that's actually only the juniors - lame'os), sing songs about it and what not. So many people called 911 yesterday so they could come and rescue it (because oh yeah, they dont have anything more important to do) that the school had to announce this morning that people should stop calling, and that the cat would come down when it got hungry enough.
So everything these days has been about that silly cat.

Besides that, life is just nice. School, sunny weather, nice people and other stuff like that.
There is the Spring Dance tomorrow = late arrival on Friday, surprise parties and birthday parties coming up this weekend, and maybe even a Quinceanera on Saturday! We'll see how I will fit plans with Daniel and Tommy Dorfman&Leigh Ann into my busy schedule.
And then PROM is April 4th... I'll update you on how that'll happen.

I hope y'all are well!

March 14th

I am back from the Dominican Republic! I can't even put words on how amazing that trip was..
Basically, we woke up at 8:30 to go lay out on the beach, went to eat breakfast, back to the beach, went to get lunch, back to the beach, walk around and chill with other people, go back to the rooms and shower and get ready (read: pretty) and then go to dinner. Then we went to the lobby/bar/casino/chill area (yeah, there was a lot to do) and met up with a bunch of kids from all over the country, and hung out untill 2-3 am. For 5 days. Yes. Yes. Yes t'was quite amazing. ESPECIALLY because everything was included! So once we paid for the rooms, we got a pretty little bracelet that we would show the people working whenever we wanted food or a drink or something else = included! WOOP WOOP!
We made sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many friends, adult and kids, and had so so so so so much fun, and took a bunch of pictures and enjoyed life.
I took like more than 600 pictures, so I'll only upload the best ones. Enjoy!

March 3rd

And so it finally happened; I got my long-wanted (599$) camera (and then of course a bag, filter, memory cards, taxes and all that kind of stuff = 736$). A beautiful Canon EOS Rebel XS

(In case you shouldn't know what it looked like).
It makes me happy.
It is wonderful. And finally, I can start developing my
photography-skills! I must say that my Olympus Mju Mini Digital
has been a good friend, but without power or any charger, it is
kind of hard to use it. I will find a solution eventually though.
Anyways, now I can take beeeaaaaaaautiful pictures. I'm so
excited!
Thank you to Mormor for sponsoring it!

Afterwards I went shopping with Leigh Ann and 1½ bikini! I am
now officially ready for Spring break. I just need to dye my hair
(it's been getting REALLY blond lately. It looks terrible)

Right now, I am eating cookies that my wonderful host mama
made :)

Yay! Life is beautiful.

Hope y'all are good.

ps. We DIDN'T have a snowday on Monday, only late arrival (10
am in stead of 8 am, which caused us not to get out until 4 pm).
Can I mention that 80% of the shcools in Atlanta didn't have to go
to school that day? Oh well..

March 1st

It snowed like crazy today! The snowflakes were humongous. And the best part? It stayed on the ground! Well.. Not on roads, but otherwise it did. It was so pretty! And not too cold.

So I went to see Cirque Du Soleil with Dylan (the son of my AFS liason, Laurie) today. The show was a-m-a-zing. The music was great, the costumes were crazy, and the performance was.. the best. I really enjoyed it a lot. So if you ever get the chance to see it, do it. It will be worth it!
While we waited for Agnes to come pick us up afterwards, we went to Publix and got some Oreos, so we didn't have to stay outside in the snow and get completely soaked. Yummy!
That was pretty much the only thing I did this weekend...

Tonight, we (Steve, Agnes and I) went to Ruth's house for dinner. It was very nice!
When we came back, we found out that the power was gone because something probably fell on the cables whatever things. We lit up the house with a few candles and got ready to go to bed. Half an hour later, the lights came back on, and my hopes for a school day off because of snow/ice/no power were gone.
Oh well, I can still hope for it, can't I? PLEASE LET THERE BE NO SCHOOL!

I'm leaving for the Dominican Republic on Sunday! I am so undescribably excited.

I hope y'all are doing well!

21st Feb.

I spent the entire day with Alessandra! We originally wanted to go to the Georgia Aquarium, but when we saw the line, we kind of gave up - and decided to go find food. So we walked untill we came to Moe's Southwest Grill, where Alex had some yummy food (I ate half of her cheesedip ;) hihihi)! Then we walked back, and found the line that was even LONGER. We thought "no way", turned around, and went to the Olympic Park (which is literaaly situated across the street). We sat and enjoyed the sun, had fun with the water thingies forming the Olympic rings and so on. It was great! We took a bunch of picture with her new phone: (I miss my phone with a camera. It's so convenient to always be able to take pictures)

I look like a super hero.. Hihi!

And now we're gonna go to the kitchen and fix us some dinner (Agnes and Steve went out) - macaroni and cheese! An American classic. And then brownies!

Hope y'all are doing well!

Feb 18th

There was a tornado yesterday. Or several actually, but only one was in the Buckhead area.

So; I was a track practise since I am a manager, and just when it was over, I was walking back from the field to get picked up when the thunder something went on. Basically it meant that they couldn't do sports outside, and the swimmers couldn't swim anymore.
Agnes picked me up, and once home, LeighAnn came to pick me up so we could go back to school and go to Open Studio (3 hours where artist can just come and work on whatever projects or do figure drawing).
Lightnings started to strike everywhere on our way there. And it was really scary, because they were literally right on the other side of the road, on the soccer and tennis fields. Luckily, no one was out there anymore. I was really freaked out.
We went quickly to the gym because LeighAnn had to turn in some application thing to a lady, and then quickly back to the car. We drove to the junior high pick-up-lot and parked, when the tornado alarm went on. Of course, we freaked out again, so we raaaaaaaaaaaan from the car to the school. After a few minutes, we got told to go sit in the hallway until it was over. So we sat there... After a while, they started drawing in the hallway, so they didn't waste too much time. I was kind of hoping we would be stuck all night, so we couldn't go to school next day and we could starve. But not really. Hahaha
I started feeling really sick, and then they called all clear, so I ran to the bathroom and threw up. Agnes picked me up, and I went to bed right away. I didn't wake up untill 7 am this morning. SO basically I slept for 12 hours. Agnes said it was probably better if I stayed at home today, since I probably have a stomach virus. So here I am, at home.

Other than that, my weekend was crazy!
Thursday night was the Valentine's dance. We went to Katie's house - me and my sophomore crew, had dinner, dressed up, and then went to the dance. It really wasn't that great at all. A lot of people were disappointed by the "Argentines-not-aloud-to-dance". Anyways, Carolina showed up, I was happy, and then I went to spend the night at LeighAnn's house.
We had late arrival on Friday - 9 am, so we went to get breakfast at Goldberg's (bagels). It was yummy! Friday night, I hung out with Carolina, Glenn, Daniel and Jake. It was a great night.
Saturday morning, we went to get breakfast at WaHo! Better known as Waffle House (Kind of like McDonalds, but for waffles. Fast food waffle). I got a super yummy double waffle with chocolate chips. I wasn't able to eat for the rest of the day.
Saturday night, I went to Peyton's house for her sweet 16! We went to get Chinese food, went to Starbucks, and just hung out all night. It was great.
Sunday, LeighAnn and her friend Zack from NYC, came and picked me up, and we all went to LeighAnn's house. We got ready to go to Opera (I repeat, a fancy club, not an actual opera). A lot of people joined us at her house. Some of us went to Tommy Dorfman's house (a kid that goes to Paideia - another private school in Atlanta, known for being pretty artsy and liberal) and warmed up. Then we went to Opera, danced all night, and had trouble finding a ride home since everyone just left, and no one had their cellphones, because they were in the cars - but we got a ride from a Westminster kid somehow, and got home. Yay
We had Monday off, because of President's Day, so we (LeighAnn, Zack and Rickman - a junior at Westminster) went back to Tommy Dorfman's house and spent the day with him. He's really cool.
That was pretty much my weekend.

Well, I hope y'all are doing well.

Feb. 14th

So I decided I wanted to make a list of stuff I thought was weird at some point:

-Many drink Coke for breakfast/ in the morning

-Boys & girls having sleepovers are not accepted at all

-They don't like showing affection in public

-They do mind you changing clothes in front of them

-It is illegal to cross the street if you don't use the crosswalk

-It is illegal to drink alcohol in a car - not only for the driver

-For birthdays, you bring cake, cookies and balloons. Not the one celebrating his/her birhtday

-Europe is pretty much considered the coolest thing ever

-Christmas is waaaaay bigger in Denmark and France. Not what I expected

-If they can drive, they will. Including going from one store to the other = a 30 second walk.

-Taking the bus is considered dangerous.

-They like being busy. What Danish people consider as relaxing, they consider wasting their time and being bored.

I think that was some main ones for now.. I might think of more and post them.
And I also want to point out that this is here, Atlanta, Buckead, and probably not all over America.

Hope y'all are doing well!
