26. okt. 2008

Okay, so since everybody is asking for details, and I am getting tired of explaining it again and again, here you go:

Like virkelig rasende. Hvorfor?

Mit problem er mere at min værtsmor reagerer sådan her.
I kender mig jo godt..

20. oktober 2008

So.. Life just goes on; school, homework, friends.. Stuff like that.

This weekend I went to see Wicked - a musical, with the Cullens. My other host family. They are very nice people and we had a great time together! And the musical was fantastic.

Christy celebrated her 10th birthday on saturday with family and friends. She got a LOT of presents. The amount of packages was insane. She was happy ;)

Homecoming was on friday. Actually it was last week, but the game was on friday.
Thursday we got to dress up, which was amazing. The main theme was decades - and all grades had voted for a decade. The freshmen were the 50's, the sophomores (my class) were the 80's, the juniors were the 90's and the seniors were the 60's.
There was a dance thursday night for the entire high school. Outside. With a DJ. I am currently trying to learn how to dance, but I am having fun anyway. haha
Also, you might think "usually homecoming dances are formal". But not at Westminster.
We didn't have class on friday. Actually we were supposed to have all kinds of activities outside, but the rain (that comes every year on homecoming - WHY??) kind of spoiled it..
I was sitting inside all day with Bryana, Brianna, Danielle and Lillian. We managed to have fun anyway, so it wasn't that bad.
There was a peprally (like for all big football games) where the homecoming king was elected. Jake won! Yay! Jake is my friend and a senior.
Then all classes had to perform a dance that illustrated their decade. The freshmen had a couple of girls that did the handjive. The sophomores had Morgan prentending to sing a song from the 80's (I have no idea what song it was) and tried to get the entire grade on stage to dance and clap. = we failed majorly = we didn't prepare a actual dance. The juniors were very good. They had a group of girls pretending to be Britney Spears and some boys prentending to be N*SYNC. It was hilarious. Then we had the seniors that just.. danced.. 60's dance. They had a lot of people participating - which was really cool.
And then, on friday night, the football game, of course. They always chose a bad team for homecoming, so they are sure of victory. They picked Decatur (which is Alessandra's school. My AFS buddy from Italy, in case you forgot), and we won 43 - 6 . So the game wasn't that much fun itself. But being there with friends and the whole GO CATS spirit is amazing.

Halloween is coming up = my birhtday!
Shelby is having a halloween party on friday. We are supposed to dress up, so that will be interesting. I am going as Tinkerbell. I already have my costume. It's cuuuuuuuute!

I hope y'all are doing great!
Camille

ps.

Picture time! Yay:

Spirit day - green and white, Westminster colors.

With fancy tattos and more green.

Buuuut we didn't. NOT good.

The football field. And our team.

I spend the weekend with Alessandra, who lives in Decatur. She is an AFS student from Italy, and she is really nice. We had a great weekend.
Friday night, we went to see a football game at her school (their team sucked).
Saturday, we went to The World Of Coca-Cola. It was awesome! I will post some pictures later. At night, we went to see a laser show on Stone Mountain. It was very patriotic (it showed very BRAVE american citizens and played songs like that and people were standing up.. It was funny).
On Sunday, we went to Atlantic Station for shopping. It was nice. And her host family is really nice too, so that was just perfect.
Today (monday), was Colombus day, which means NO SCHOOL! Yay!!

Anyway, I hope y'all are doing well.

5. Oktober 2008

I went on a AFS orientation this weekend.
We had so much fun. I love the other AFS kids. They're just great.
We talked a lot about what was difficult and stuff like that, so.. we had a good time!

And on friday, there was a football game. THE biggest football game of the year - Westminster vs. Lovett. (Lovett is the big rival). We were all in the Westminster spirit, dressed in green and saying "Go cats!" (our mascot is the wildcat)
Unfortunatly, I lost my purse. With mastercard and visa card and cash, my camera bag (luckily not the camera), pictures, tickets from different places I have visited around the world, and a lot of other stuff that meant something to me. I didn't find it again.. Not good.
But I had fun.

I will post some pictures of tha AFS orientation and the football game + peprally + the rest of that day when I get the pictures from those who took them.

Pictures from Hilton Head:

The place we stayed. Yes, it was very nice. But, I mean, it was a Hilton hotel.. haha

Hilton Head 08!!

We went on a chorus trip this weekend, to Hilton Head, in South Carolina. It was a-m-a-zing! I had soooo much fun. And it was so beautiful..
We droev for like.. 6 hours in a bus (3 busses actually - 9th and 10th grade chorus, 11th and 12th grade chorale, men's a'capella, women's a'capella & the ensemble) to get there. But it was a nice drive. We had fun together.
When we came, I wlaked out of the bus and saw the most beautiful Hilton hotel. I thought "Wow.. this is really different from the KonTiki trips I am used to!". But I mean, it costed 350$ for those 2 days. So.. yeah. And people that go to Westminster can pay that. That really is different.
So, as I just wrote, it was really beautiful. Of course, there were pools and hot tubs and stuff like that, but it was also right at the beach. It really was amazing. I wanted to stay for a whole week!
We had parties at night - one of them on a riveboat in fact. That was the best. I love the american youth being able to have fun and dance, without being completely drunk.
We sang in a church (which pretty much was the purpose of this trip), and.. just hung out. It was a lot of fun.

This week, and a part of last week, I have tech crew. It means that I am in the crew, that does all the technical work, in the Westminster play. I just play the music before and after the play, and at the intermission. So there really isn't a lot to do during rehearsals. 2½ hours of.. starring. Maybe do some homework.
But I get involved, and the people are nice, so I am not complaining :D

Besides that, the PDC craziness has started. PDC is a dance that some club in Atlanta arrange for some of the schools in Atlanta. The tradition is that the girls invite the boys, instead of the regular boys-invite-girls. Which is pretty funny. BUT the thing is, that when the first girl asks, the rest goes insane, and next day, everybody will have a date. Which pretty much happened on monday. So today, everybody had a date for PDC.
And the dance is not before December 7th.. It is INSANE. I really want to go, just to experience an American dance (since prom only is for seniors and juniors), but it costs 250$ for the tickets. I'm not sure whether I feel like paying that or not.. I'll see. I have 2 months.

I will upload the pictures from Hilton Head soon.

Hope you're all doing well!

19. september 2008

Hey!

Something new happened today, so I felt like posting it in here. Hahaha
And I have nothing to do anyway. So here we go;
They took me out of my math class (because I had major understanding problems, and it was just a useless pain in the ass, since I don't get any credit for it), and now I am taking AP French instead. AP means that it is college-level, kind of. Something like that, I think. Hahahaha.
The thing is that I get to learn how to actually write French, since I already speak it. Yay!
So today I had my first French class. It was interesting.

Agnes asked me if I wanted a Spanish class also. I said that it was probably better that I didn't, because I am already struggling with getting my English perfect, taking Chinese, and now French - which is a natural language for me to speak (so I go back to "regular speaking" i my head = Danish and French. Yes, very verrrrrry confusing), and then the Danish that I write or hear - all of that every single day, I was afraid that I might get too confused.
So I might take an art class in addition to all this. Just so I don't get bored with my 2 free periods, almost every day.

Have a good weekend!

18. september 2008

Hey everyone!
How is everything going?

I am doing so great here. People are really, really nice.
School is going well, also. I still have problems in math, buuuut I'm working on it. I got a tutor, that can help me, which will help me a lot. Besides that, everything is good.
I am finding myself confortable with the Cutshaws, and I think they are feeling the same way about me (I mean, at least I HOPE they do! ;D)

On monday, we went to Auburn, Alabama, Christy, De and I, for Christy's diving. She goes there twice a week. And it is a 2 hours looooooooooong drive! So 4 hours in the car. yepp
She is diving at the Auburn University. It is h-u-g-e. I mean unbelievable huge. So they have some really nice pools, where she dives. And believe me, she is really good. I can't believe that she is only 9 years old!! I posted a video so that you can see it.

Coming up; I have a trip to Hilton Head (the beach) with the Chorus - next weekend actually, and I am relly looking forward to it!
This weekend, my friend Hayley is having her sweet 16 birthday party, so we are going to surprise her! It's going to be so much fun!! yay

So everything is just great!

Since I don't really have more to say, I'll just post more pictures.
I just wanted you to be updated.
