March 28th

I can't believe that it has only been two weeks since we came back from Spring break!

This week has been very rainy. It was hard going to classes without an umbrella, but somehow I managed to do it without looking like I went swimming with all of my clothes on.
Although my shoes did drown with pretty much every step I took. Poor little feet of mine ):

For some reason Glenn and Leigh Ann haven't been majorly interested in me lately, so I've had to find other things to do. It was quite a challenge since I usually rely so much on them (and their friends and cars), but I found ou that I have a lot of other amazing friends that I got to spend more time with. So in the end, it isn't that bad!

On Friday is Big Day Off! It's a day at school where we basically don't have classes, with activities, student bands playing, movies, and all that kind of stuff. It is said to be a lot of fun, so I am excited.
And then Saturday....... PROOOOOOOOM! Woop Woop!
I, as an exchange student, got the permission to ask to Prom, although Prom is meant for Juniors, Seniors and whoever they ask. - which means that some Sophomores get to go (quite a lot this year actually), and maybe some freshmen, but that is not as common. The thing was that 3 weeks before the Prom, nobody had asked me (not that I expected it, but Mr. Dimon was reluctant to give me the permission to ask a Sophomore boy, hoping for a junior or senior boy to ask me) and then Agnes convinced Mr. Dimon that I should be able to invite someone, since I wouldnt be here next year, and that Prom is such a big part of being a High School Student in America.
So anyways, I did. I asked a guy named José Luna. He is a sophomore too, and he is in my English class, and he is very nice, and he will look good on pictures, and he is a good dance, and I am very excited.
The tradition for Prom is that you go to a picture party with who ever are your friends, then go to dinner with a limo, go to the dance (still in the limo), then go to an after party Casino thingy untill 3 - and then people have sleepovers (which is like the ONE night of the year where you get the permission to have boys-girls sleepovers). But I won't join that last part because Agnes says people do a lot of stuff they shouldnt - which I can't confirm for sure, but I don't doubt that.
Usually the boy pays for the limo, dinner and so on (the Prom itself doesn't cost the students anything, because the junior class raises money for it - but that's just Westminster), but since I was the one who asked, I will be paying. I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it though.
Now I just need to find myself a dress. I refuse to pay more than 40$ though. I can just borrow one if I don't find one.

Marina is home this weekend! Yay
And Carolina is coming next weekend, to go to Prom with Glenn. Partyyyyyy!

I hope y'all are well!

March 21st

In case any of you would want to know; they got the cat down.
Mr. Justice sent out an e-mail with details and pictures.
"Wildcats,
I just wanted to let you know that our "wild" cat has been successfully rescued from the pine tree in front of Campbell.  It was intense and harrowing at times, but the cat made it back to earth without a scratch.

Special thanks to Joe Tribble, who spearheaded the effort with Curtis from Stewart's Tree Service, along with Coach Tribble's specially recruited "catch squad" of Rob Franklin, Tyler Cooke, Hart Willoughby, and Mac Stormont, who were incredibly skilled with their plaid blanket.

I'm sure it will be on our "wild" cat's FaceBook group page before too much time elapses.

As always, GO CATS!

March 18th

Yesterday was Cammie's birthday so I made her a pretty card. It was also St. Patrick's day (I thought only irish people celebrated that) so everyone was wearing green ; but me. Haha!

The new big deal at the big W is...... get ready for this, because your life will never be the same........ A CAT!!!! Who is stuck in a tree. A very big tree. And it can't come down apparently. So during breaks, people stand there and yell at it, make jokes, throw things to make it fall down (that's actually only the juniors - lame'os), sing songs about it and what not. So many people called 911 yesterday so they could come and rescue it (because oh yeah, they dont have anything more important to do) that the school had to announce this morning that people should stop calling, and that the cat would come down when it got hungry enough.
So everything these days has been about that silly cat.

Besides that, life is just nice. School, sunny weather, nice people and other stuff like that.
There is the Spring Dance tomorrow = late arrival on Friday, surprise parties and birthday parties coming up this weekend, and maybe even a Quinceanera on Saturday! We'll see how I will fit plans with Daniel and Tommy Dorfman&Leigh Ann into my busy schedule.
And then PROM is April 4th... I'll update you on how that'll happen.

I hope y'all are well!

March 14th

I am back from the Dominican Republic! I can't even put words on how amazing that trip was..
Basically, we woke up at 8:30 to go lay out on the beach, went to eat breakfast, back to the beach, went to get lunch, back to the beach, walk around and chill with other people, go back to the rooms and shower and get ready (read: pretty) and then go to dinner. Then we went to the lobby/bar/casino/chill area (yeah, there was a lot to do) and met up with a bunch of kids from all over the country, and hung out untill 2-3 am. For 5 days. Yes. Yes. Yes t'was quite amazing. ESPECIALLY because everything was included! So once we paid for the rooms, we got a pretty little bracelet that we would show the people working whenever we wanted food or a drink or something else = included! WOOP WOOP!
We made sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many friends, adult and kids, and had so so so so so much fun, and took a bunch of pictures and enjoyed life.
I took like more than 600 pictures, so I'll only upload the best ones. Enjoy!

March 3rd

And so it finally happened; I got my long-wanted (599$) camera (and then of course a bag, filter, memory cards, taxes and all that kind of stuff = 736$). A beautiful Canon EOS Rebel XS

(In case you shouldn't know what it looked like).
It makes me happy.
It is wonderful. And finally, I can start developing my
photography-skills! I must say that my Olympus Mju Mini Digital
has been a good friend, but without power or any charger, it is
kind of hard to use it. I will find a solution eventually though.
Anyways, now I can take beeeaaaaaaautiful pictures. I'm so
excited!
Thank you to Mormor for sponsoring it!

Afterwards I went shopping with Leigh Ann and 1½ bikini! I am
now officially ready for Spring break. I just need to dye my hair
(it's been getting REALLY blond lately. It looks terrible)

Right now, I am eating cookies that my wonderful host mama
made :)

Yay! Life is beautiful.

Hope y'all are good.

ps. We DIDN'T have a snowday on Monday, only late arrival (10
am in stead of 8 am, which caused us not to get out until 4 pm).
Can I mention that 80% of the shcools in Atlanta didn't have to go
to school that day? Oh well..

March 1st

It snowed like crazy today! The snowflakes were humongous. And the best part? It stayed on the ground! Well.. Not on roads, but otherwise it did. It was so pretty! And not too cold.

So I went to see Cirque Du Soleil with Dylan (the son of my AFS liason, Laurie) today. The show was a-m-a-zing. The music was great, the costumes were crazy, and the performance was.. the best. I really enjoyed it a lot. So if you ever get the chance to see it, do it. It will be worth it!
While we waited for Agnes to come pick us up afterwards, we went to Publix and got some Oreos, so we didn't have to stay outside in the snow and get completely soaked. Yummy!
That was pretty much the only thing I did this weekend...

Tonight, we (Steve, Agnes and I) went to Ruth's house for dinner. It was very nice!
When we came back, we found out that the power was gone because something probably fell on the cables whatever things. We lit up the house with a few candles and got ready to go to bed. Half an hour later, the lights came back on, and my hopes for a school day off because of snow/ice/no power were gone.
Oh well, I can still hope for it, can't I? PLEASE LET THERE BE NO SCHOOL!

I'm leaving for the Dominican Republic on Sunday! I am so undescribably excited.

I hope y'all are doing well!
